I've done the bullet way. It sucks, but a real man puts his dog down himself. Worst part was digging the hole before-hand knowing what I was gonna have to do.

Sorry for your position. I put my dog down a year ago, fucking sucks. No homo but it will bet better as time goes. It just takes time to heal.
