I'm having a hard time making one. I'm trying to get one made correctly to use on a ghillie rather than a boonie had. I figure it would be a lot cooler to ones head and lighter weight, and easier to use.
Has anyone out there made one? My attempts have been complete failures. I must be missing something here... I'll keep trying though.

Re: Hoods

hey shay, if you are still having problems on it... try to find a jacket with a good sized hood, try to get a pattern off of it with paper. a jacket with removable hood would be ideal.

if you still cant get it, let me know and i can try to send you a card board pattern of the pieces i use

Re: Hoods

I make my hoods off a pattern by looking at an Under Armor hooded sweatshirt.

It's got about a 4-6" strait strip over the top all the way to the back of the neck (like a mohawk) and then the side pannels attach to that.
This kind of pattern helps to prevent getting a peak from the more simple two piece design.

This is what I'm having trouble with, getting the side panels to lay and look correct.
