Horizon Vandal 22 Creedmoor

I have one about a month old and have run into a couple of problems. Action was really ruff all the coating has rubbed off of bolt already. Accuracy was not what was advertised waiting on a shipping invoice from them to take a look at it. Customer service stated to me that there were problems with first batch of eld-m’s to try the eld-x, yikes! $360 dollars later the groups went from about 2 moa to 1”. It could be mine’s a dud who knows? But to be completely honest it is a good looking rifle only wish I didn't have the problems I’ve had.

Thanks for the info. Was leaning towards another full custom build, sounds like that’s the best option.

I think you’re better off also going custom. I just finished developing a load for a Vandal for a buddy and wasn’t all impressed. Finally got it just under 1moa with some 77g TMK’s and H4350 but it was picky. Also like the guy said above the action was somewhat rough but maybe I’m just used to my Kelby Atlas Tactical action.

So before I decided to drill holes in the stock I called Horizon and they recommended pulling the sling studs and using an 8” Area 419 universal rail. I only had the 4.25” on hand so I threw it and a vortex viper pst gen 2 I had sitting in a box on it. I need to sell the scope because I’m moving to all mil instead of MOA. I didn’t know anything when I started or I’d of been mil the whole way. What scopes are you guys running on them? I will be using good rings because I plan on taking the daytime optic off and putting my iray rico mk2 on at night. I also have to go get another 5/8-24 muzzle device for my Rugged Alaskan so I can throw it on there. I’ve got a couple Otter Creek Labs suppressors in jail right now and one may go on it. I haven’t decided what I want to do. I’m trying to work towards dedicated cans for everything. The one can thing is a great idea but it is short lived!

what suppressor are you guys running on the 22 cm? I’m moving towards dedicated cans because it’s just better obviously and I haven’t found a lot of data out there for what people are loving
