from what I understand its the same bullet. I have heard they are GTG for deer, and then again too, I have heard they werent.
I know someone personally that has done good with them on whitetails.

I wouldn't hunt with them aony anything bigger than a yote personaly i would use a big game bullet or for longer range stuff a match bullet that has been proven effetive.

Plenty of folk have killed many big game animals with them, and I'm sure they'll be along shortly to tell you all about it.

So if I decipher your reply correctly, you're saying the A-Max hasn't been proven to be an effective bullet?

For the ump-teenth million time, yes the A-max is a fine bullet for hunting. And the 168 TAP ammo is the A-max.

I think TAP is loaded with the BTHP and the AMAX. If you hunt with it consider it suitable on the same game you would use a Nosler BT on. You'll be fine, I among others here have smacked a few critters with the amax (whitetails) no prb's.

TAP 155's are nasty killers on deer. I'm going back to 168 AMAX for deer.

Yep as long as its not your land that the hogs are tearing up, otherwise its not good at all.......

We have our own problems with the damn wolves that the Fish and Game thought were so important to RE-INTRODUCE. They did it in the eastern part of MT under cover. Now you can't find a game animal to hunt. Hell even the turkeys are rare in that part..

my buddy shot a few deer 2 years ago with them out of his LTR
definitely much larger wound cavity than the 165g Gameking SPs
dead deer for sure, but excessive to me
