I run a Wylde chamber and use factory ammo for coyote hunting (barely have time to roll my own for my match rifles, so the critter getter is getting store bought).

Anyone have any input on the two? I'm pretty sure I'm gonna stick with the 55gr....

Sobr, it'd be interesting to hear results from the superperf 53's.

I've thought about them hard, but I've heard many boys bitchin' about vmax bullets/yotes in 223. I'm still shooting the Hornady 55 soft points and have zero complaints out to 250yds, longest shot to date for me. So, it'd have to be some drastic results to make me change at this point.

Cheers,
Breeze

Lots of folks bitch about the Vmax/Amax's in predators, but I'm more motivated by depredation of destructive cockroaches than having beautiful pelts, so I don't mind them.

The SP53gr's are great, but a few in every box I've had have taken a bump on the forward assist to go into battery where the VE55gr have all fed fine (as has SSA Barnes, and milspec/crap ammos).

Brother man, you are preaching to the converted! Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition. I've got a small farm loaded with goats, chicks, ducks and so forth. Dead ain't got to be pretty for me...it just needs to be assuming room temperature.

I do like to be able to walk out there and pick up a body after the smoke clears and the soft points have been doing that for me. Now it pops foxes like they're a balloon, but the yotes are pretty good sized (probably from eatin my damn chickens)and I rarely see an exit hole.

Here's a pic of me and the good Lady doing some target work from the shooting deck i built off the hayloft of the barn.

and here's a female we hit coming in to the barn from the backside of the pond, probably 85 yard shot. Those are 18" pavers she's laying on.
