Hey Guys,

Looking to stock up on some ammo. Which do you guys like the best: 129 SST superformance/120gr Match/140gr Match?

Shooting 100-1000 yards out of a 24" barrel.

Thanks,

Steve

the 129 sst is a hunting bullet, not really set up to do 1000yd shooting. Its a good hunting bullet for sub 500yds. The amax bullets in the match loads are excellent hunting bullets as well as match bullets for thin skinned game like whitetail and smaller game. You still get the advantage of being able to shoot out to 1k with them.

My 24" Rock bbl, chambered by AO, shows a marked preference for Lapua 139g Scenars, available from Copper Creek.
It actually shot its best group of 0.302 at 100 yards with 123 Amax from Hornady but it is more consistent with the Scenar or the 140 Amax at longer ranges.
BC has a bunch to do with that.

Definitely the Hornady 140 AMAX load. It's all I use from my Creedmoor at matches and it's accurate and makes the trip to 1000+ without a problem.
