Hornady match?

Anyone seen these?

I came across them the other day in the local shop, it looks like a match king and is about 6 bucks cheeper a box.
I have never seen of heard of these, anyone tryed them?

Hornady makes a match BTHP bullet that will look like a MK more than the AMAX do. The Hornady BTHP is a very accurate bullet. I have used the 168 BTHP loaded ammo and it shot great. Keep an eye out for the new 178 BTHP that will be coming out. Has a BC of .520.

I've shot lots of the 168 BTHP match, I bought the box of 500 in 2003 for about 70 bucks. I should have bought 5000 of them.

I like the 178 Amax better than the 168's but that seems to be because I can shoot the Amax just as fast from my 30-06 and the BC is a little higher. Accuracy for them is excellent.

The 168 is a great bullet. Can't wait for the 17<span style="text-decoration: line-through">5</span>8 to come out.

I shoot the Hornady match .308 168gr stuff out of mt LTR and they shot just as good as the 168gr FGMM as for as I can tell. I shot them from 100 to 1000 yards but they did seam to fall off at about the 850 yard mark. I shoot about 800 of this before I started reloading the brass with 178gr amax's.

I think for the money the Hornady ammo is hard to beat!

Hopefully in the next few months. Waiting to find out myself to reload and also for the factory loaded 178 BTHP that is supposed to have a muzzle velocity of 2760fps from a 24" barrel.

Did they ever release what the BC will be for the 178 BTHP's?

I loaded some 168 Hornady a few years ago for a PSS that I had at that time. The PSS liked the Hornady better than it did Sierra 168's.
Move ahead to 2010. The oldest boy has his 308 together. We did some load testing in it, and it also likes Hornady as well as Sierra with 168's. With Hornady quite a bit cheaper, we are now shooting mostly Hornady in it.

Looking over my bullet supply I am starting to see quite a few more Red Boxes than Green on my shelf.
