Range Report Hornady Z- Max (Zombie) Ammunition

Re: Hornady Z- Max (Zombie) Ammunition

To be fair, the CDC released a report saying theres as great as a 2% chance of human beings becoming zombies. Really? That's what are CDC is up to? Releasing "zombie reports"?. Im sad inside....

Re: Hornady Z- Max (Zombie) Ammunition

I have not been able to figure this whole "Zombie" thing out. I know it's become a big deal with the younger generation, but over the last few years of talking to a lot of different people, I've developed a theory on all this talk of the "Zombie Apocalypse".

A lot of people use it as a code word for preparing for the collapse of civilization. If you talk society collapsing and needing to be prepared, people think you're some kind of lunatic. But if you talk about preparing for the zombie apocalypse, people just laugh it off and don't think nothing of it.

Preparing for the zombie apocalypse allows people to talk about Bug Out Bags, Weapons, and other survival topics in a non-threatening way. I talk to people every day who are nervous about the future and are preparing. They are very uncomfortable talking about it, even over the phone to a stranger. Talking about it in terms of zombies, takes the edge off for them I guess.

I think Hornady is playing upon this feeling that exists around the country more than killing the undead. Any way, that's just my two-cents worth.

I think this is funny, definitely a good gag gift. It would've been better if they had made them all out of steel cases and molly coated bullets so they actually look different than normal rounds.

Yeah they do, i was able to get a box of 9mm stupid cheap at cabelas here awhile back, i think it was something like $12/box and since it's pretty well the same thing as the Critical Defense that i use for a defensive load i used the zombie ammo to try out my new G17 w/ attached surefire to see how it shot and ensure the gun would run it, and it shot might fine. Figure it's better to burn $12/box ammo for testing than $20/box, so this stuff definitely has its place.

Re: Hornady Z- Max (Zombie) Ammunition

This ammo is 120% a marketing ploy and a dang smart one at that capitalizing on 1.The generation and current Zombie, gaming craze 2.Firearm sales out of control
I picked up two boxes each of the .223 and 7.62x39 of this Z-Max. I plan on doing some curiosity tests with them shooting at items. Mostly I want to hang on to a box of each.

One thing; I was not at all impressed by the 7.62x39.The casing's look spot on like Tula cheap steel case.
