When have football fans ever panicked and trampled each other? You might get stabbed at a Raider game or get the shit beat out of you at a Ravens game though. The only way I can see a panic happening and people getting trampled would be if maybe someone burned a rainbow flag at a Cowboys game.

I was actually there in person for a crowd trampling incident.
Back in the (fuck if I remember) 70's or 80's (short term memory loss and all that).
Anaheim stadium, concert, forget who the fuck it was that played.
They had what was called "festival seating" which meant it was first come first served to sit on the grass next to the stage.
It was some big name band....and there was a term everyone used for it ....the crowd rush.
Yup, a few people got stomped to death.....did not personally see it.

Envision it.
50,000 people all get to the concert early for the soul reason to party till you puke on alcohol and drugs in the huge ass parking lot.
It was almost every weekend back in those days.
I lived and went to school a few miles away, it was common for us to go there in a train of vehicles with 20-50 people we all hung out with.
It was good times till someone got killed.
Hasn't been any festival seating since.

It wasn’t a panic... there were multiple large fights going on. Yes some trampled, most beaten to death.

I remember that. There are numerous videos on YouTube of crowd crushing injuries. Many bands now have spotters looking for people in trouble and help get them out of the crowd.

Hell, I personally attended twice that many myself at that place.

Some black guy in the crowd was with a white girl and the Angels working crowd control at the stage didn't like it and the brother pulled a gun causing the Angels to stomp and stab him to death. After they castrated him, an Angel did a handstand.

IIRC the Stones management did the actual hiring, but the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane recommended the HA based on previous concerts.

Movie Gimme Shelter had some pretty good footage… remember seeing that in the ‘80s. Wild times!!!

Only been to two NFL games when I was a pup. Raider games at the colosseum. Before the game tailgating was awesome. The most gangster Oakland locals would call us little white kids over to play catch and sample the bbq. Went the other way too. Apparently gangbangers like bacon wrapped snow goose liver. Whole parking lot full of nice people with AC/DC and fiddy cent blaring. They lost both the games I went to. There were multiple stabbings after one and a shooting after the other. Quit giving a fuck after the kneeling shit. That’s all a marketing ploy anyway, the nfl gets a bunch of gov $ for anything patriotic they do and people lap it up. Soccer blows too. I watch hockey. Linebackers on razor blades beating the fuck out of each other with sticks.

Hockey is the only pure sport left. But even that has become tame in my lifetime. I remeber guys spitting teeth out and still finishing the game. If i remember right one dude played the whole playoffs with a broken collerbone.

Yeah I know it's Yahoo. The "witness" says the fatalities didn't happen until the police started firing for effect with tear gas into the stands where the non-combatants were. They also had the exits blocked off because there was more fighting outside the stadium. So the only place to go was the stands, which were being bombarded with tear gas. Sounds like another argument for "back the blue."
Every story I've seen on this is from the lying-ass media, so who knows what really happened. But it doesn't appear that the deaths were caused by rioting soccer fans, but instead by panic due to being fired on by police while trapped inside a stadium.
