Went to an old gunshop in Oregon this weekend and found a 261xxx serial number Remington HB in .243. Has Tombstone safety, BDL Stock and gloss black bottom metal. Looks like it’s stamped ‘64 but I think I’m dating it to ‘67? No recoil pad but they were full up on 16601 aluminum butt plates. I bought one then they gave me 4. I have the Badger M40 base and rings so I’m getting there. Who wants to build it for me?

Nice!!!

Pressed checkering was never my thing, but the action of that gun is made like a fine watch!

Good era at Remington !!!

Not mine either. It’s going to get a repro M40 stock as soon as I locate a good one. Was thinking beaver 156 but his are not very frequent and you have to be fast to get one!

GAP has a legit 2112. While LRI is awesome, on a clone like this having a legit 2112 would make it next level.
That’s true. George is the shit! I’m going to play with the 243 barrel for a bit. It is the right contour with the flat face crown so it will look the part except for finish but first I need to put some rounds down range to make sure it’s not shot out. It is 57 years old. Same as me and some days I feel shot out!
