How did I live without a Chargemaster?

I finally ponied the green for an RCBS Chargemaster last weekend, and I put myself to the test with it. Before, with a balance beam scale, I could load maybe one bullet a minute. Now with the CM programmed, Im knocking out about six to seven a minute.. I dont know why I held off for it for so long..

Nice. This has been on my list for a while. I've been meaning to post up a topic asking for opinions. I'm very happy to hear this is working well for you.

What kind of powder are you running?
Have you checked the weights against other scales to make sure it's solid ?

If you're going to buck up and splurge on one reloading tool, the Chargemaster combo is it.

+1 on that, the thing is a dream to use. Does anyone know of any hacks available to make it even quicker and more accurate? I remember reading something about that, just forget where it was.

Ow and I forgot to mention the best thing about the CM, the "auto" function...

Here is a blog from another site:

On the last page of the instructions, a section heading, “Auto”, caught my attention. This thing will operate automatically. All you do is press down the “Enter” button until “AUTO” appears on the screen. Then, you enter the charge (24.2 for W748, 20.0 for H4198) and hit “Disp”, just like regular. But here’s the auto part – when you set the empty pan back on the scale, it dispenses the next charge automatically – you don’t have to do anything. In fact, I was seating the bullet in the case I just filled while it was refilling the pan.

To change it out of AUTO, back into MANUAL mode, just press enter again.

Speeds things up that fraction quicker!

So far I have done 100 loads, and i randomly sampled 5 loads, all but one were dead on, the one was just a tad light, maybe 1/10 grain. Its fast enough for me. When I dump the power into the case, then put the pan back in the machine, it has the next charge ready for me automatically by the time I have the previous bullet seated..

Search Chargmaster Reprogramming

I think there are a couple of threads.
dar started one and it usually stays towards the top.

Don't forget to install the straw trick on yours it should help prevent overthrows.

So your doing a round every 10 seconds? Mine wont do and its programmed
