How do CZ 22lr barrels compare?

I want to invest in a new 22lr bolt-action rifle for shorter range target practice. I wanted to ask what you guys think of CZ's barrels?

I have some 22 cal CZ barrels on some of my PCP air rifles (which are the same or similar in size and twist rate to their rimfire barrels) and they are excellent. They easily keep up with barrels costing twice the price but I don't hear as much talk about them in the firearms world. Are CZ considered to be a top barrel maker for 22lr or are they the mediocre factory barrels that target shooters immediately remove?

CZ manufactures sport rifles. Not high end match ready rifles.
Purchasing a CZ factory barrel is a crap shoot.
You may end up with an improperly cut crown, loose chamber,
oversized headspace or a rough finish bore.
Then again you might end up with an assembly line jewel
capable of sub moa at 100 yards. Think of it as a rimfire lottery,
some end up with rifles that produce amazing results,
others end up with barrels better used as tomato stakes.

I sold off my factory barrels and purchased a Shilen and a couple of Liljas
to determine just how accurate I could make my 455s.

All I have is what I have, which is a 455 in 17 HMR with a factory sport taper barrel.
It is neck and neck with my Anschutz bull barrel in the same caliber.

Never replace a factory barrel until you've shot it and given it a chance. As mentioned above, you may hit the lottery.

Being an Anschutz fanboy I bought a CZ to try one year. That barrel was a dud. 3/4" at 50Y was a good group with two match ammo's I tried so I was disappointed. In a half dozen different 22 rifles from different manufacturers it was the worst one. Maybe I hit the lottery wrong but that was my experience.

I shoot a couple of 40X/XB repeaters with Benchmark & Lilja bbls that I've fitted & chambered. Both have Jewell HVR triggers, Athlon Cronus 4.5-29x56 scopes, and are skim bedded in B&C #2015 stocks that have aluminum bedding blocks. Both rifles shoot great with a select lot of SK Rifle Match. A semi-local club runs 22RF Precision Rifle matches, where three of the better shooters run CZ 455 rifles w/factory bbls, in either Boyds tacticool or Manners stocks, and I've been out-scored at least once by each of these guys with their CZs. I'd have to guess that their rifles' barrels are pretty darned good, as we're shooting at targets from 25 to over 200yds.

I've seen tons of cz factory barrels, accurized hundreds using factory barrels, and way north of that with match grade barrels. I have yet to see a factory barreled cz hang with a custom fitted barrel on a cz. Majority of the factory pipes do not slug well and the leades look like they are cut with butter knives. The average cz will do 1/2"-1" at 50 yards. Only way to know how good the one you will get will be is to shoot it first.

CZ rimfire barrels are great by Ruger or Savage standards but no where close to Anschutz or top aftermarket barrels they are all hamerforged but best rimfires barrel remain button rifled with ither choked muzzle end like customary to European brands or tapper lapping as used on high end barrels , Rimfire Benchrest world courently considers Shillen ,Muller ,Broughton and Lillja to the te top tier but its more down to individual barrel than any particular brand.
Also not stainless aftermarket barrels last no where near factory chrome molly barrel .

A fact that ilustrates the level of CZ barrels , Walther KK100 is a rifle build on a CZ reciever but uses russian TOZ - Biakal barrels for better accuracy. than CZ was able to provide

I am waiting on some Wolf match for my new CZ tacticool. I took it to the range last week and it was shooting consistent 3/4 moa at 100 yards with Federal gmm. This is with a cheap Vortex crossfire scope I put on it. I will eventually get a Lilja barrel but so far I've been suprised by what the factory can do with ammo I found at my local gun store.
