You can remedy that with some steel repair epoxy putty. fill the channel leaving the center free for the primer to drop, after its cured, sand the portion thats sticking out so the ram can go up and down freely.

Redding makes a solid ram replacement.
I talked to them shortly after it first came out and they had already introduced a solid replacement ram because of the many requests. It still handles spent primers, but does not have the slot for priming.
I wish they would just ship them with the solid ram.
Does anyone actually use a press for priming? I tried it once and wondered why anyone would bother......hand tools are so much faster.
But, yes....I really like my T-7.</div></div>
I prime with my T7. Never used hand tools for priming. The mechanism doesn't bother me, and I think it works very well. As far as the primers getting shot out onto the floor, I have found that if you deprime very slowly, almost 100% of the spent primers make it into the tube. If you pop them out quickly, about 30% shoot out. </div></div>
There you go.
I tried priming with it and quickly went back to my handheld tool.
To each his/her own.
