Can someone please explain how to load up a bipod? After starting out using a sling and holding the fore-end and that bipods are bad bad bad, I'm led to believe otherwise. I'd like to know the correct technique with free hand holding a rest under the butt and body in line with rifle.

That article kills me. I read it a while back and I just can't reconcile how to have a hard hold but no muscle tension. Keeping the bipod low to the ground also for me makes having a natural cheekweld very hard.

If you're prone, set the bipod feet into the dirt and take your toes and slide your body forward and use your body weight to keep it loaded once you get it loaded. Your body weight should be enough to keep it loaded without using muscle tension.
