That guy needs a job in SW KS. He would be one busy fella! He is going to have to prove his skills on "pull outs" but I am guessing he has it covered.

Here...that's called "failure to drive on the right", and carries a hefty fine as a traffic infraction. And yes, I do, and will continue, to issue those citations. Traveling at 50 mph in the left lane while traffic flows at 65 causes traffic backups, creates hazards, and endangers others, as well as being inconsiderate. Some drivers are just obliviously texting or chatting away, not a care in the world, and paying little attention to the operation of their speeding two-ton metal missile...right until their world lights up in a glorious whirl of red and blue. And here, that's another sizable citation and fine as well.

Definitely a pet peeve of mine too. We get these contractors originally from "south of the border" towing a flatbed full of lawn mower stuff, sitting in the fast-lane, oblivious to people stacking up behind them. Move it on over!!

I only wish the fine was replaced with a license suspension! That is the single most irritating driving related thing anywhere in the US, well that and the people who beg for a bullet by intentionally blocking faster moving traffic.

On a side note, if a cop is driving unsafe riding your ass (like in the video), and you happen to hit the brakes responding to something that may be in the road (essentially brake checking him), I wonder how that plays out. </div></div>

If you have a damn good reason for doing it and they're not running code you might just get them to pay for the damages.

If you DONT have a damn good reason you'll get written for the brake check and causing an accident. I've seen it happen. Whether you were being harassed or not, you'd better have 110% good reason as to why the cop hit you.

Re: How good cops handle slow drivers in left lane

I'd like to see a lot of that around here. Pretty common behavior, even though there is a big sign every mile or so that says "SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT" and cites the code.
Unrelated: I saw a guy too busy gawking at a hottie on the sidewalk to realize the car in front of him had stopped to turn left. Impact, loud noise, parts flying, etc. Guy he rear-ended turned on the light bar before he got out of the marked police car. Ooops.

Re: How good cops handle slow drivers in left lane

Sometimes I get stuck in the fast land and I can't get back because all the fast guys are passing me in the slow lane. I can't win!

WA state - JUST as bad as Florida and I've driven in Florida!

In Canada they force you off the road and pull you out of your vehicle and beat your *ss...I've seen that happen too.

Alas, not yet.

Go over to Vancouver island and drive in the fast lane...(Slowly that is)...I watched a guy get beat for it...

Re: How good cops handle slow drivers in left lane

I think the cop was trying to give the motorist a hint by pulling up behind.

I liked the lights to achieve the proper corrective action. Very classy- he taught the person the lesson, without the warning or ticket in about 45 seconds. Saving time to do something else.
