Landed a striped AR lower and started thinking about the next money sink (I mean project) and I think I’ve matured or am sick with the Rona.

I’m not sure I want to dive into another caliber to reload for….startup cost & rat race of grinding for components has hit me.

So far I’m at 8…none of them that well, TBH.
223/ 223ai/ 6.5Creed/ 6.5x47/ 308/ 280ai/ 300win/ 9mm….. now that I Talley it up, it doesn’t seem that bad. Maybe a lil 6Arc or 6.5 Grendel wouldn’t be so bad!

What is your count?

I am at 6 and that seems like a lot. I try to limit powder types. 223 and 308 I use Varget. 6mm Creedmoor and 6.5 Creedmoor I use H4350. 300 Win Mag and 300 PRC I use H1000. I just happened onto some N565 to try on the 300 PRC.

Let's see....223, 22-250, 7-30 waters, 357 mag, 44mag, 9mm, 45 acp, 45LC, 454 Casull, 50AE, 44-40 ,22 Hornet, 6.5 mb, 30-30, 308, 300rum, 338LM, 7RM, 30-06, 45-70, 375CT. Reload all of them plus 12gauge. And then there's the black powder which is basically reloading everytime on the fly. Probably forgot a couple. Too many calibers? No such thing he who has the most calibers when he dies ....wins.
Added a couple I forgot.

Here's how i would move further if i were in your shoes to help consolidate.

-Take current .223 barrel, punch it out to .223 AI, sell .223 dies. Now you have two .223 AI barrels

-Take current 6.5x47 barrel, punch it out to 6.5CM to have 2 barrels

option A. Sell 6.5cm dies and shoot factory ammo in order to cull some reloading time
option B. Fuck that, factory ammo for 6.5cm is way too expensive and scarce.
option C. See option B

-Take 6.5x47 dies, switch bushing to a .257 neck bushing, have a 25x47 barrel cut. Buy 135g Bergers, enjoy stupid high BC and low recoil.

-Figure out which you shoot more of between the .280AI and .300wm. Both will likely serve the same purpose.

option A. Sell the one you dont shoot as much.
option B. Keep both, but the one you shoot less, load a shit ton of ammo for it, sell reloading stuff and survive off of what you loaded for it.

-Continue loading for .308 and 9mm, because Murica.

Let's see: 223, 308, 6.5g, 6.8spc, 300blk, 9mm, 7mm mag. I'm trying to pare down the bullet selection for each so I'm not wasting time/money/components chasing a bunch of different loads when I can find one that will work across multiple rifles.

There is no such thing as too many. I would highly recommend a Grendel. Super fun and accurate.

I have been fighting tooth and nail to reduce the number of cartridges I load for. I am currently at 7; 9mm, 10mm, 223, 6BR, 6.5CM, 7RM, and 308. I expect to relapse but hopefully can limit myself to less than 10 cartridges...

I think I sometimes enjoy reloading more than shooting. I've got 3 more that I want to load for.

HI My name is Chris and I'm a recovering reloading addict. The only know cure at the moment is to keep pulling my lever on my press and finding more useless ways to shoot the same bullet faster in different calibers. Like my 300 blk,308,30-06, 300 mag and maybe soon the 30-378 Weatherby.🤣🤣😂 I have reloading issues.

20 practical, 223, 6 & 6.5 creed, 7-08, 30-30, 308, 300WSM, 300 Norma improved, 7.92mm aka 8mm muaser, 7.7 Jap 9mm, and 45-70

Just started last year doing 9mm on Dillon 750 and love my 20 practical which is my lastest project.

Looking at 8.6 blkout and a 17 hornet or something similar

no such thing as too many if you have money to burn.
i only have the essentials, because more of one thing means less of another.
.22lr 9mm .308 12ga.
some people on calguns have 20ish.

to either cut down on beer or the kid's new gear, it's a big decision in a town called malice.

All of these posts except jbuck’s make me feel crazy. There was a time where I felt like every new firearm needed to be a new chambering to me. Now I don’t load all of these with any regularity, but I regularly jump back and forth between a dozen or so of these to keep stocked up on loaded ammo.

.204 ruger, 22 hornet, .223, 22-250, .22CM, .243win, 6GT, 6.5x47, 6.5CM, .270win, 7MM Rem Mag, .308, .300BLK, 30-30, 30-06, .300WM, .338LM, .338NM, .45-70

5.7x28mm, .380 auto, 9mm, 38 spl, .357 mag, .44 spl, .44 mag, .45 Colt, .454 casull, .45 acp, .460S&W, .50AE

I don’t think I’ve forgotten any, but maybe. If I had it to do over again, I would probably try to stick to 10 or so but I don’t shoot them all enough to make it difficult to keep stock levels adequate.

to many calibers is when you cant shoot them all, you dont know shit about it's benefitials, you dont have time to master all those rifles, and dont have money to buy good rifle and good scope for it.
than it's too many. and ppl have too many cartridges, because they are retarded massive consumers. and dont know shit about their gun and cartridge. especialy in hunting... too many similar cartridges for no real use...

You are very likely "sick with the Rona." What sort of sane firearms aficionado asks such a question?

I’ve said for awhile that after the latest build (the 280Ackley for mid weigh do all hunting rifle) that I’d throttle back the expansion of the collection.

I’ve already got more than I need for my use. (Hunting/paper& steel punching/ the rare rimfire comp)

I’m not looking condense the collection. I’m just nearing the end of the puzzle. All of my applications covered.

Do cannons count? I'm trying to find a used, low cost A-10 to beef up my self-defense arsenal. These days, you never fucking know...
