California , Wheeeeee!
I googled around and it seems some of the guys at RFC were soaking in acetone to soften the JB weld or whatever the heck Anschutz uses to glue them on.
After an hour of soaking, mine still feels like the bolt handle is in danger of snapping off when I try to loosen it.

Any tips from the pros?

Thanks APC

It's pretty well fuckered anyhow since I didn't care about saving it and put the vice grips and vise to it already.

I let it soak overnight and it actually budged 1/16-1/8 of a turn this morning. I have to leave alone for a while before I obsess on it and forget to go to work on time.

I tried the boiling water a while back with no luck......

After the knob exploded into a million pieces tonight trying the acetone and vise grips again, I heated the bare metal insert briefly over the stove burner and it came off with amazing ease!
Thanks again APC.
