How to fix stripped bullet jackets when seating bullets?

Reloaded 250 rounds of 62gr Hornady BTHP on my Dillon XL750. 3 of the rounds were more difficult to seat than the others. Upon inspection of the three rounds I found this:

I am fairly positive that the jacket of the bullet is being stripped because the inside diameter of the neck is too small. Why would this occur?

My reloading process:
Toolhead 1:
  • Decap Die
  • Sizing Die with no stem or expander ball
  • Mandrel die
Swage brass in Dillon Super Swager
Trim brass in Giraud
Toolhead 2:
  • Prime and drop powder
  • Seat bullet
Components: Bulk once-fired brass (2xGFL, 1xAguila), Hornady 62gr BTHP , CFE 223 powder, Federal Small Rifle Primers

Should I re-use the mandrel die again in Toolhead 2 to make sure case neck is of proper diameter?

It’s a giraud so it is a three way cutter so it chamfers. Maybe adjusting more to favor the inside more... but your outside doesn’t look overly aggressive so I would assume the inside is fine. Would have to see it without a bullet covering everything to actually say.
If it’s bulk crap brass, are those cases shorter and didn’t get deep enough to chamfer?
I doubt the inside diameter being too small if you mandreled unless they are harder than hell and got sized waaay small. I would shoot them and not worry, use them as sighters if you do worry.

This is probably it. I compared the stripped jacket bullets to the rest of the batch and it's obvious the others were chamfered/deburred/trimmed and these weren't.
I guess I'm going to toss the brass with necks not long enough to be touched by the Giraud.

What mandrel od are you running?
The mandrel is from 21st century. I believe its a 0.222" mandrel but I'll confirm in the morning.

...or you could just put them in a separate bin as you do the trimming (anything that doesn't get cut) and just chamfer them by hand or on a prep center. I'd be willing to bet that after the next firing/sizing cycle they'll be long enough all on their own 👍

 Blasphemy

How short are they? Nothing wrong with trimming them all to minimum spec.

I have no idea but it's bulk brass not new. I got a large order from Capital Cartridge. If I lose 3 pieces every 250 I'm not sweating it.

If it means that much to y'all I'll keep em. I guess I'll have to buy a separate chamfer and deburr tool (which I was hoping to avoid since I have a Giraud).

I toss one of these or a little lee pocket scraper in when i need just a couple bucks more to make free shipping, it goes dull and Im not sure its designed to deburr but it works well enough but I only use it in situations like you are in since im giraud too so they still last forever https://www.brownells.com/reloading/case-preparation/case-mouth-chamfering/chamfer-tool-prod54229.aspx?avs|Manufacturer_1=lee+precision
