I have had pretty back luck with HS Precision stocks. The ones that I have messed with have not been true, it always pushes the barrel to one side. I called up HS to see what temp their stocks were rated at 120 I believe. Anyways, I sprayed it with Cerakote and I baked it at 115 for 2 hours and I pulled it out and it was cracked down the middle in a few spots. Heck it gets hotter in that in your care. What would they do in Iraq????
I like them for hunting rifles, I will just clear out the barrel channel and skim bed them. </div></div>
thanks...... which kind of stock ? </div></div>
Again, that was just my experience. But I have used McMillan, Manners and AICS. My favorite of them being the Manners MCS-T4. Its nice and light, super tough and I like the overall look of the stock. It seems the McMillan A-5 it a bit heavier than the Manners.
I guess my honest opinion would be to shoot the crap out of it and replace the stock if anything happens, or you want to give it a face lift. It would be kind of expensive to buy a new stock, bottom metal, then pay for any inletting and bedding. That money could be spent shooting.
A good 20 MOA base, tactical rings and good quality scope would be probably on the top of the list.
A good Harris swivel bipod is pretty much a must.
A good tactical bolt knob would be a nice upgrade as well.
I'm also getting more serious about long range shooting, but that should get you started for now. </div></div>
every items you listed are already here, about the stock I'll use it then I'll decide ..
interested also for long range shooting..
thanks
