Gunsmithing how to remove rifle sights off 870 barrel

Hi guys have not done this one before since I don't work with shotguns much. I want to take the rifle sights off of an 870 barrel. I have heated them up to no avail...I do not want to get it too hot, how much heat is needed ?

If I'm not mistaken the rifle sights are screwed on. The front one needs to have the aiming post drifted out of the dove tail to get to the screw. The rear needs the same but it should have a screw for holding the "V" still.

they're silver brazed onto the barrel. It's easier to mill them and finish the barrel off in a lathe. With the Silver brzing compound Remington uses you'll end up getting the barrel orange before they break loose
