??Anyone ever weigh 20 or more cases from FGMM and "regular" FC .308 brass and see what the variance and distribution are?
Heck, what's the average, range, and sd for weights on Lapua brass, for that matter?

I wondered the same thing. I have a crap load of FC brass and some is FGMM and most of the rest if the cheapo walmart 150grn SP hunting load. The brass looks the same. I just assumed the brass was interchangable, and it was the load itself (primer, bullet, powder) that was different.
And I just recently weighed about 50 pieces of my Lapua brass just for shiggles. I didn't run the SD, but the ES was a little over 2 grains. So the Lapua didn't seem to be anything magical as far as being close in weight compared to other brands. In full disclosure - I weighed them before doing all the usual prep stuff because I wanted to then re-weigh with water. So I left the fired primer in. I'm sure if I did all the usual prep, the ES would be lower.

These were from 168 grn FGMM.
These were from an older lot of 168 FGMM
These are from 175 FGMM.
And these are from elcheapo Fed 30-06.
Unless that was sarcasm? Then,<span style="font-style: italic"> WOOSH!</span>
ETA: I think it's moot point though. My guess is that it's all the same.

My FGMM 175s were both blue laquer-sealed on the primers AND were crimped!
The crimping sux, and set the stage to snap my X-Die's decapper/mandrell. They were harder to decap than USGI stuff!

I have sixty rounds of one lot of FGMM and forty rounds of two different lots. If I have time tomorrow I'll weigh them.
