Howa 1500 initial quality and warranty claims

A local store has a Howa 1500 American Flag APC with scope and bipod on sale for $800. It is being sold as used because the buyer bought it but did not pass background check. The store says it will not be covered under Howa warranty because it is now used.

So my question is... am I taking a chance on this or are most Howa products reliable out of the box?

Call Legacy Sports, the importer/service center for Howa Theyre in Nevada. Seems weird you’d be hung out to dry on a warranty claim from them.

If it's being sold by the store and was never legally transferred, it shouldn't be considered used. If the warranty registration wasn't filled https://www.legacysports.com/warranty-repairs/firearm-registration/, Howa would never know who the first purchaser is.

I would not worry about a used Howa product. But, when you go to the store make a big deal about it and get them to lower the price.

And, I would say there is still a good chance it would be covered.

I strongly suggest you ignore what the store told you and whatever you're told here.

If someone were to warrant the rifle, it won't be the seller and it won't be anyone here so it matters fuck all what either tells you.

Call the importer, Legacy Sports International, and ask them. Their answer is the only one that matters.

But based on my experience with three Howa rifles, the chances you'll have a problem are slim, and the chances LSI makes good if you do are near 100%
