Hey Guys, finally perfected my new fixture for doing Howa 1500 bolt knob conversions. They are similar to the Winchester/FN in the respect that the handle flows right into the bolt knob. This was my first one that I attempted and I'm now accepting orders on the Howa 1500. I hope you enjoy the pictures and let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Re: Howa 1500 Tactical Bolt Knob Conversions!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Guys, sorry about the delay, been busy with the shop. Here are a few more pictures of the conversion I did today.

Price is $95, that covers supplying a new Badger Knob, performing the conversion and shipping the bolt back to you.

Turn around is 1 day.

Thanks for the compliments. It takes longer to indicate the Howa and Savage bolt handles in than blueprinting an action. It is done in the same fashion where I indicate two points on the handle so the knob and she section about 1"-1.5" to the left so its running perfectly true. When everything is dialed in I start making my cuts and bring the old knob down and turn it into a .312 shaft and thread it to 5/16 x 24. I leave part of the original knob to the left of this. Once Its threaded I start fitting the knob and pushing the should back until the old knob starts to transition into the new knob.

So there you have it, that is how I get everything looking good and correct. It takes a good hour and half to do this conversion because of the pain in the butt set up and fitting the contour correctly.

If you have any more questions just send me an email or PM.

By the way, this is my Loaner Badger knob that I do all of my fitting on, thats why its dinged up and has a worn out line between the knob and handle.

Re: Howa 1500 Tactical Bolt Knob Conversions!!!!!!!!!!

I seee. Well i am selling my mountain bike (about 600 dollars) and i am very much considering on having you do a bolt conversion knob for my howa! But this will work for a Long action bolt right? Since it has nothing to do with the actuall bolt, just the handle?

Re: Howa 1500 Tactical Bolt Knob Conversions!!!!!!!!!!

That is my gun pictured above while mark had it in his shop. I have no clearance issues. Below is the gun as it is today. Maybe mark will see this and let you know how much longer the bolt is after the conversion. The conversion was worth every penny; it looks and works great.

You can shoot mark an email. I am certain he will be happy to answer your questions.

Thanks,

avd

nice rifle avd!

Looks like I'll be able to grab a heavy barreled Howa action for around $200 before DROS and fees in Cali... Serious contemplating a build on Howas now. Tag another $200ish for the B&C and add my USO to it, I should have a good shooter out of the box.

Mark, I may be contacting you soon!

avd, whose rail did you use?

Sounds good,

We used a rail from Legacy Sports, I will have to see how actually makes it, but they make 0 and 20 MOA rails.

Yes I do. If you look at the bottom half of my "bolt knob conversion" page on my website there will be plenty of info on the work I do. Also feel free to call or email if you have any more questions.
