HOWA/AXIOM HEAVY BARREL VARMINTER

I am wanting to buy a 243 and before i was looking to buy it in a remington sps dm. But then i thought of a HOWA/AXIOM HEAVY BARREL VARMINTER. So i was wondering which was better.

So please tell me which is Better and which i should buy.

The Howard is a solid action, but the axiom stock sucks imo. The biggest advantage of the Remington is the plethora of aftermarket parts and accessories. The Howa's options are more limited, but they are available. If the Howa is a heavy barrel and the Remington is a sporter barrel I give the nod to the Howa otherwise its a toss up.

Umm.. How does the Howa Stock suck, curious because i have always heard it is a good stock, not bad. The Howa is a heavy barrel, The remington i think is a sporter barrel. I love the look of the stock on the Howa.

Looks isn't everything. Just cuz it looks cool doesn't mean it is. Functionality, and comfort is everything. I owned the howa axion in 308, and as stated above the action was good, but the stock was lacking in both areas.

My advice would be, get a remmy 700 heavy varmint. Unlimited parts out there.

Since the Stock is so bad, curious would it affect the accuracy, or anything.

The stock is cheap plastic and on the ones I have handled are very loose where they adjust for LOP. The bedding could effect accuracy and I don't know if they use a bedding block or pillars. Either way you go the stock is the weak point and should be replaced to get the most out of it.

K, thanks guys. See if i buy a remington sps dm, I am going to put a better trigger, new barrel and new stock. If i buy the axiom i am not going to do anything because it already has a 2-3lbs trigger and everything else is good on it, so i heard. But Know that i know that the stock is bad i am leaning to the remington.

But i still dont know which im going to pick but i am leaning on the sps dm.

There is actually 2 versions of the axiom, or at least there was. Plastic and Alu. I don't like either, but if you must choose one get the all alu.
