Just wanted to introduce myself. I am a long time hunter and shooter from Oregon. Most of my shooting has been at 100 yards or less. I have recently decided to give precision/long range shooting a try. I have always enjoyed target shooting and trying to make difficult shots so am sure I will enjoy this new hobby.
Here's my build specs so far:
Remington 700 Long Range 300wm
Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50mm ZS MOAR reticle
Seekins 20moa base
Seekins medium rings
Seekins SRS rail
Atlas Bipod w/QD mount
Triad Tactical stock pack
Witt Machine muzzle brake
I took it out for the first time last Friday to break in the barrel and was pretty surprised at the accuracy during the break in. I was shooting remington Core lock 180gr soft points( didn't want to shoot expensive ammo for break in) I consider myself an OK shooter at best so I was pleasantly surprised to shoot a couple of sub MOA groups. .861 and .876 we're the 2 best 3 shot groups at 100 yards. I don't have any experience with hand loading but I feel very optimistic about the potential of this rifle once a load is developed.
Again, I just wanted to say hi and I am very happy to be a part of the forum.
