OK, second attempt at a post, not sure what happened to the first one, so if they both show up, please bear with me. I joined this afternoon after lurking a bit. It looks like a nice community & I'm looking forward to learning more about shooting & accuracy. I've been shooting since I was young. My dad taught me when I was about 8 or 10 I guess. Don't remember now as it was so many years ago now. He passed away in 2010 at the age of 90, so that gives you a rough idea of my "experience" but there's always something more to learn about shooting.
I've ordered a Savage Mk2 FV-SR to tinker with, & I'm looking forward to playing with it, working on accuracy, stock, bedding, and the usual mods for something to do. I've shot center fire for years, but things continue to get more expensive, so a 22 is just a logical extension of being able to shoot more and spend less, at least once I get the thing built. Looking forward to meeting the people here and sharing some techniques & information. I'll post a few pictures once I start the build, but for now, Howdy from Tucson.... Terrible Tim
P.S. Swedish Mauser in a stock I did based on a Harry Lawson pattern he turned on a piece of American walnut out of Missouri for me. This is the original (cut to 18") military profile barrel. Still shoots like crazy when I do my job right. I love these old military bolt action rifles.
