Last night my son, who is away at collage, called at 2am very upset, saying his best friend's girl friend had just been taken by gang members. It's been 2 days since he's heard from her and he can't get any info from LEO. I told my son there is a possibility that the girl made the story up to dump his friend. I was half asleep during the first details of the story so forgive me if I don't quote verbatim. The friend said he received a message from the girl saying she thought she was going to be taken and if he didn't hear from her to call for help. That is the last word he has heard from her. I'm at a lose as what to do to help, my son was ready to gear up and go vigilante on some mofos, but I talked him down from that.
Any suggestions?
P.S. I edited when I got more clear info. LEO did do a wellness check but did not actually speak to the girl. That is what the boyfriend was told. He is currently in contact with LEO relaying all pertinent info.

P.S.S. After a second call with LEO, they actually spoke to the girl, she is ok, just seeking attention. Thanks for the help from a member here. I think maybe two pretty naïve young men learned a lesson.

I have pop corn and a couple of yard chairs at least you'd be comfortable while you watch the free show and pop corn if there was or is any drama just need an old piano player to make the whole thing come alive with music.

Use Social media to pressure the police to look into it.
I'll bet you could stir up enough interest from the social media types with the prior accusations to force the police to go do a basic check to not look stupid.

Did you contact the law enforcement that covers where she lives? Police or Sheriff? Both?

If that failed did you contact the State AG to report non-intervention by those agencies?

Did you contact the FBI or state bureau of investigation? I know the FBI has a reputation right now but still.

If you have actual, real reason to believe this happened, and not just a he-said-she-said exaggeration, then it should be taken seriously and gone through the proper channels. I would not resort to social media campaigns and media stuff if you haven’t contacted all these law enforcement agencies yet. This is essentially a kidnapping if it is real.

Last night my son, who is away at collage, called at 2am very upset, saying his best friend's girl friend had just been sold to a gang by her father. It's been 2 days since he's heard from her and he can't get anyone to do anything. Calls to the LEO seemingly have been in vein. The friend has contacted a lawyer but nothing as of yet. I told my son there is a possibility that the girl made the story up to dump his friend but if we could just get LEO to do a wellness check and let us know she is ok. I was half asleep during the first details of the story so forgive me if I don't quote verbatim. The friend said he received a call from the girl saying that there were men in her house threatening the family if they called the cops and that they were taking her. That is the last word he has heard from her. She had previously told him that her father on 8 separate occasions had sold her to friends for sex while she was very young. I'm at a lose as what to do to help, my son was ready to gear up and go vigilante on some mofos, but I talked him down from that.
Any suggestions?
Tell your sons buddy not to fall in love with whores!!!

Has your son met this "girlfriend"?

Chances are very likely given what little we know (the courtesy call "I'm being kidnapped") are she's just out living her best life.. drugs, partying, whatever. I cant wait to hear how this ends!

Assuming the story is true:

Cartel's or anyone engaged in human trafficking, are garbage. Garbage needs flushed like turds.

Get the friend and a couple others, arm to the teeth, take care of business. Leave no one but the girl alive.
Most people don't know about our nation's foster care to sex trafficking pipeline, but the facts are sobering. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) found that "of the more than 18,500 endangered runaways reported to NCMEC in 2016, one in six were likely victims of child sex trafficking. Of those, 86 percent were in the care of social services when they went missing."

In 2012, Connecticut police rescued 88 children from sex trafficking; 86 were from the child welfare system. And even more alarming: the FBI discovered in a 2014 nationwide raid that many foster children rescued from sex traffickers, including children as young as 11, were never reported missing by child welfare authorities.

folks that laugh at talk about pizzagate shit have no clue of the scale of the problem.

Its funny listening to squares discuss and think they can fix this shit.

Have seen this type of shit first hand. Families, who are generations deep. Most who are in it, in the US make the choice to be in it because the money is good and they have nothing else. If you want to play captain save a hoe. Good luck. But if she is an adult she is highly aware of what she is doing.

Sounds like something most people do not understand.

Tell your son to and his buddy to go fishing in another pond. They are in way over their heads.

Sounds like she found someone that was “hitting bottom” unlike her boyfriend and she wanted a little time with him…..my guess is she will show up in a few days looking like an Arby’s sandwich and not wanting to press charges…..

That's literally what happened to me, she told me her black eye was from some guys who tried to carjack her or somethingrather. Later on she fessed up it was her ex husband who she was still fucking because "I LOVE HIM" lmao.

I'm quite aware of the scope of the problem. While I generally believe in forgiveness, slavery, some call it 'trafficking' and especially when it involves children, is onerous beyond the ability of words to describe, and like communism, another form of slavery, needs to be exterminated with extreme prejudice.

Small caliber entry wound, base of skull, backhoe.

Doesn’t add up. Nobody’s “buying” a college girl and risking kidnapping, rape and trafficking charges. There are way too many runaway drug addicts ready and willing to turn loose for a ball or a bundle with way less risk.

Sounds like she might be one of them and this is one of those wild ass drug addict stories.

I don't want to sound insensitive but this is worse than the guys that come on asking for legal advice. If it's true, a forum is not gonna help.
It's the kind of story that's told 1,000 times to manipulate someone for every time that it happens in truth. The naive are easy targets. I appreciate the reminder of the need to polish my children's skepticism before sending them off.

At nine and eleven they know never to lend a vehicle and to never cosign a loan. But there are so many sobstories out there, each carefully designed to provoke a particular response that can be exploited.

Perhaps tommorow the girl in question will call the op's sons friend and explain how the gang will settle for only 10k or some other amount she suspects the friend can get.

The reason LEO shows no interest is because they know it's a bullshit story.

Of course this is "real" ... it makes perfect sense to run to "The Bear Pit" on a shooting forum for help with this dangerous and time-sensitive situation. :ROFLMAO:

My favorites are when people will post up a completely fucktarded situation where they have already screwed themselves and then "does anyone have any legal advice?".

I didn't jump ship, I work for a living and just now have time to respond.
Thanks for the PM help I have received. The boyfriend is doing as instructed.
And to whoever said why would I post this here? WTF, is there a better place to ask for advice than a place where LEO and military current and former participate daily. Do you have a clue where you are and who you are talking to?
I will be editing my post as I have better info now?
Thanks to all for your concern.

Sometimes, college psychology students will post shit like this to measure reactions. Smells close

Foster kids are usually emotionally damaged and/or traumatized.
They often run away. Runaways are prime targets for traffickers.
Not reporting is probably very rare from social services. Actual foster traffickers, I hope, pray, is very rare.
