This past season was a wonderful experience, and I'm so grateful that it was able to happen. Started with bear, September 2016, here in Washington State. Spot and Stalk hunt, One shot, 325 yards, .30-06 Rem 700 CDL, handloaded 165 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip.

Went to Wyoming for pronghorn and mule deer. Took the .30-06 again:

Managed to squeeze in some pheasant hunting:

And back in Washington, seized an opportunity for late-season cow elk:

Used the .30-06 Rem 700 CDL with an old 2-7x Redfield, and handloaded 165 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets for all my big game hunting this season. It worked very well. I was blessed with good friends and family to hunt with as well.

Used to post here long ago as M700, but that moniker seems unavailable to me now. So, I'm back, as me!

I'm jealous. You list the distance on blackie but not on the other big game? I want give pronghorn a shot soon. Spotted a couple really nice ones this winter. I think the higher snow total has moved some of the big guys around.

Sorry to have neglected that. I don't do long-range hunting, though I've shot to 1500 meters.
The pronghorn was at 245 yards.
The mule deer at 140 yards.
The elk at 338 yards.

All fell at the first hit, though I have to admit I shot over the elk at first, thinking it was farther. Those Nosler Ballistic Tips performed superbly too.
