As for the story in question (and this is not by any means directed towards the OP in particular but just the message the article is conveying) I'm going to have to double down and wave a big fat propaganda flag on that too.
Right off the bat- we're being told "
Hundreds of University of California of Los Angeles (UCLA)
students converted to Islam and participated in a massive group prayer to Allah." Moving a bit further... "The
pro-terrorism students chanted "Allahu akbar" during the
prayer and chanted "Allah is the greatest" of all gods.
I'd throw the 'glowie' picture in but that's overplayed here. Let's just focus on some things that we do know to be true.
(1) across all of these campus protests, they have the same signs, they have the same tents, and 'somebody' is providing them with food/water/(and most interesting of all) legal representation. Across the entire country mind you- watch an episode of 'Ancient Aliens' and listen to the theories of how thousands of years ago everyone came to the same conclusion to build pyramids but despite not knowing the others existed all seemed to stop that 'great idea' around the same time.
(2) We know that over the past several years of these protests that garnered significant media attention, the vast majority of the select few that were arrested were from thousands of miles away and were known 'activists' presenting themselves as whatever local group was convenient.
(3) We understand misdirection when the news is covering some odd story 24/7 there are other things going on in the background and once those efforts conclude we seem to stop hearing all of a sudden those super 'once in a lifetime' stories.
(4) We know that modern day media receives a significant portion of their funding by 'clicks' in our present world. And (to be fair arguably) for over 60 years the media's mantra has been 'if it bleeds it leads'. I'd argue that It's been that way for far longer but media delivery mechanisms as we understand it in modern society seems to align with the 60+ year statement.
(5)We know that religious affiliation in the US has steadily declined in about the same 60 year timeframe (not arguing whether that's for the best or detriment either just stating the trend that's occurred for decades is all) and now we're being led to believe that we're now reversing that trend and are in the midst of a religious revival of sorts and an untold quantity of folks that may or not be students are picking up Islam as their religion to devote to in a (again not trying to make this a discussion about merits of religion just pointing out the absurdity of what's being sold in the article) country that for the vast majority of it's existence that operated with a primarily Judeo-Christian population and up until recently spent over two decades engaged in military conflict in a predominantly Islamic region? Even if we've dumbed down the nation, which I believe there's a recent thread on, that still doesn't make any sense for all the things that would need to be true for that to be factual.
(6) Assuming that these are in fact college students and ignoring the present groupthink of the dumbing down of education- we're supposed to believe that in the same 60+ year period that I'm referencing, that collegiate educated women influenced by however many waves of feminism efforts are now starting to reverse that trend with a religious revival choosing Islam which, personal opinions aside, has a very long track record of where these early 20's women would place in their society? It's not like there's not recent examples that were rather well covered of how that works out for that sector of our society. I keep referring back to the one person several years ago that ran away from Alabama to get a Taliban husband or whatever it was and how that worked out for her. I think the same story played out with similar results from another young lady from the UK. They may be blinded by their ideologies but even then I can't believe they've truly found religion and committed to Islam. Nope- no way, no how.
I could likely go on to make the list official sounding by making it 10 points (George Carlin reference there) but I'm tired and just going to end there for the night.
So TL/DR.... throwing the BS flag and nothing personal but if after thinking through the facts of this story and you're still 'spitting mad' about it, perhaps I can suggest taking a breather and look at it again tomorrow to see if you think you 'might' be getting played into the whole propaganda/PSYOP (another thread recently started) news coverage this election year. Just a thought.
