Hunting at the ranch this weekend. From our big blind at 160y, family of 15 or so comes in from the east about dusk. Sighted in on a 100 lb piebald(sp) first but then saw a dominant boar roll in and run the rest off. He was a monster (by STex standards) and was a good 10" taller than the rest of the group.

Lined up the new bolt gun (175SMK's) and BOOM. Pulled the shot a bit high but hit him right behind the ear. DRT.

Felt at least 250lbs maybe around 300.

Cutters measured around 2.5"

Fun pic of my boys shootin business card size steel at 50y.

Enjoy.

I love how Texans like to show off their pictures of pooping off hogs. These things need to be shot though. They are a varmint of exponential proportions.

I live in farm country in CNY. The ferals are coming; reportedly already up to around Binghamton NY. That's just a couple of hours East of here.

Re: Hunting at the Ranch- Pig Elimination

Last year me and my nephews were deer hunting had a few deer coming in and then they stopped and looked back in the brush i told them you know the drill change rifles out 1 has the bolt we have ar's, i had to shoot over a young bucks head to kill the lead boar, the first time we did this i thought the deer might not come back but they they do this has been going on for years they run deer off and root up anything we plant. I live for shooting feral hogs!!!

Man, yall are some hardcore bastards....lol. FYI, had the kid shooting off a bit too tall of a rest at that time. Pulled the bipod of my bolt gun after pic was taken. Proper form was attained....

I wish all kids were cool like that. Good family times go a long way, and that's a sweet hog. Most kids these days would rather have an Iphone and some wifi.
