Seen hand laid paint as intricate as computer generated patterns, but for durability sake, is there a significant diffence between the hydrodip application and a painted finish? Is the durability same between fiberglass stock and metal components?

My experience (we have a Hydro place 30 min away so I use it a fair amount) is that is is about the same as a paint job. I am sure there are some really tough paints out there that would beat it but in general - haven't seen any problems with the dipping.

Remember, they clear coat it after dipping (gloss, semi, or matte) so it is really the clear coat that is taking the abuse.

Just my two cents - might be all it's worth.

For durability I'd go with cerakote every time, or at least a cerakote base. Not only that, but they are advertising a new form of clear coat that is suppose to be the strongest in the world. Take that for what its worth.
