Hydro dipped rifles

Show your multicam dipped rifles and optics combos, was it worth it ? Thinking of doing mine but not sure

I only have had one rifle hydro-dipped. It was a Fierce Firearms rifle and it was done at the factory. It started pealing off within the year. I sent it back and they painted it at that point. Their hydro dipping process may have been flawed, but it helped me decide to spend my money towards a good cerakote job rather than hydro in the future

wish i could tell you, sent it back to the gunsmith who subsequently stole it along with over $13,000 worth of cash and parts

I haven't done a whole rifle but I had a local shop do the plastic bits of an AX AICS about 2 1/2 years ago. It came out good and it's been pretty durable, there's been some wear on the bottom sides of course but that's to be expected.

a local guy saidafter he dips he does a cerakote clear flat, maybe that will help

I can't remember what they clear coated mine with but it's certainly helped, no doubt about that.

What's the average cost to do a chassis?

Prices may vary and it could depend on the chassis itself but I'd set aside $300.

Durability...it all depends on the guy doing the application that day. I have had 5 rifles dipped and some look perfect and some look like sh1t. That is with light handling and safe rubbing. If it is not prepped right it peals. These photograph well but I can show you areas that suck. My CZ455 was one of the first rifles dipped and it is perfect. Others not so much. If it is a simple pattern go Cerakote for sure.

Multicam will be my next hydrodip. My first and only so far is Kuiu Vias 2.0. Applied Hydrographics in Phoenix (sister company to Grayboe stocks) did my first one. I am happy with it. $150 got it done since they had others to do at the same time.
