    Doh!

Kalashnikov gets props for a gun he didnt invent - the StG 44 no less...
[h=1]Moscow statue honouring the inventor of the AK-47 features a GERMAN assault rifle after blunder by sculptor (who made the same mistake on a Russian military monument in 2014)[/h]
    • Workers had to cut out part of the monument to Mikhail Kalashnikov in Moscow
    • It was found to feature a German assault rifle - the StG 44 - used by the Nazis
    • Salavat Shcherbakov said it was a mistake - but he made similar blunder in 2014
    • Historian Yuri Pasholok spotted the error and said sculptor should be 'beaten'

At least with video you can just delete the wrong scene or voice-over. Anyone watched those 'Story of the Gun' episodes? The experts like Garry James, pronounce the names e.g. Garand, correctly and get the history right, then ... the voice-over artist mangles the names and misinterprets the history! I remember watching a show produced by a different outfit that was about Britain's professional soldiers who held the line in WWI until reinforcements could arrive from India, etc. One of the video clips showed Yanks with 1903s shooting away!
