I did it

Re: I did it

Thank you! Whether it turns into a lifetime career or just a tour... you will have accomplished more in your enlistment than a lot of people accomplish in their lifetimes. Stay safe, have fun and always remember that you put your country and your fellow citizens before yourself. There can be no better example of honor and integrity than that...

Cheers,

Sirhr

Re: I did it

Whatever you think you're doing, if it's not written in your contract then you're not doing it. Make sure that 03xx is in our contract if you are indeed wanting infantry. Verbal promises made by your recruiter mean nothing and are worth nothing.

Don't go in with an open contract and don't accept anything less than the job you want in writing.

Re: I did it

My mate just finished training with some US Marines from Camp Pendleton (?), out doing a joint exercise in Northern Australia. Now this part of the world is full of dangerous critters, some of which actively hunt humans, and you really need to keep your wits about you. He reckoned it was pretty funny watching a squad of Marines on patrol more concerned with the native fauna than the 'enemy'. But not as funny as seeing them cut a huge Fourth of July cake with a machete, that an hour earlier had been use to to cut up somne seriously poisonous cane toads. But overall an awesome bunch of blokes, even gave him a go on one of their tricked up M4's.
