Just heard this song being played again especially with the Bon Jovi/Bob Geldof duet and just found out the inspiration for it.Lots of people assumed it was about over coming a hangover when in fact it was about a mass shooter.In 1979 Brenda Spencer 16 shot up her high school from her home across the street with a .22 caliber rifle her father had given her.She killed 2 people and wounded 8 more I think. A police man saved more lives by blocking her line of fire with a garbage truck he moved into position so her view was obscured. Anyway a journalist found this wackos phone number and called it and this crazy bitch answered. He asked her why she was doing this and she replied...you guessed it" I dont like Monday this will liven it up" She eventually surrendered after a 8 hour standoff when the SWAT team promised her Burger King.
