I felt good at the range today

After about 100rnds and getting my tr sighted in all 5rdns touching mostly at 100yds. I ended up getting asked to sight in 3 rifels . A custom built AR15 with a 21in barrel, a standard AR 15 carbine, a Kimber .308 bolt action and I shot off 1 round of .375H&H. I'll leave that round for someone else lol.
I kinda got a chuckle when the first guy come up and said "if you can shot that good with a .22 at 100yds I'd like to see what you can do with my AR"

So let me get this straight you were shooting groups at 100yards with a 22lr and shooting all shots touching? Do i have that right? Or did you mean you got one lucky group that hit all touching? Cause if your shooting one hole groups at 100yards every group your like my hero!!! I have seen guys fail at this with $3000 guns and match ammo that shoots incredible at 50 yards.

Not one fluke group most were touching or very close to if not touching. When I got my new barrel my test target was a little less than .7in at 100yds with a pulled shot

I am not much for shooting punishing rounds anymore either.

It can be done, I did it one morning with a 56' mod 52 target and a 36 X scope using old dimpled Fed GM Ultra match, UM1, best damn .22 ammo Ive ever shot, conditions were PERFECT and I was ON. Im out of the ammo and I have never been able to duplicate that day.... still trying to find the ammo and try, ANY wind will make an ass out of me at 100!!! very best and good shooting..

When shooting .22lr perfect conditions are the biggest factor. There is always at least a variable breeze at my range so i don't know if i could ever do that.

A 2 mph wind shift can throw you off about 1 inch at 100 yards with subsonic ammo. I know my gun is a .75 minute gun shooting on the best days at 50 yards. I usually throw a 1.5" plinker out at 100 to work on my wind reading skills. I just get frustrated shooting groups at 100 at my range.

Hunt down whatever ammo you used and buy every last round you can find from that lot.

Start entering matches, you will clean up at the prize table for everything you enter.

Bad news my vortex crossfire scope died on me today. Less than 300rnds through it and the magnification ring won't work anymore. I did have my spare junk BSA 4x32 scope in my range bag so I swapped it out.
This is my best group with my shity scope. This was at 50yds

Conditions were rough today, swirling winds with +20mph gusts. Savage MkII TR, CCI SV, 100yd, all shots inside a 3" circle. Guys thought I was shooting an AR in 5.56mm when they saw the group size.
