But I'm thinking about picking up a trainer in 17hmr. Being a FFL I can pickup the Savage 93R17 TR for wholesale pricing. Thoughts? Concerns?

I love my 17HMR, awesome little round for sure and as Im sure you know savage is pretty good. Ive got an FVSR and its nice for the money I paid. Its no CZ or Ruger action but its not bad.
Not much not to like about the .17! My CZ and my Volquartsen go to the range and farm almost every time I go.

I love my 17hmr. My 50yd and 100yd zero are close enough not to worry about when shooting P-dogs.
My 93R17GV came in last night but the local range is closed for a few weeks for major maintenance so it'll be a while till I get to shoot it and report back. I've got a stock of a few brands of ammo to try, but reports are that the 93Rs like CCI 17 grain hollow point best with either CCI, Hornady or Federal 17 grain V-Max a close second. There's a video on youtube where the shooter sets his camera up at the target and if you're not looking close you wont see rounds 2 and 3 hit as all they did was enlarge the hole made by round 1.
