I need a 14.5" M4 upper. LMT or Bushy?

Hey all,

Got the itch for another M4 but topped with an ACOG. I want a 14.5" upper and am wondering about LMT over Bushmaster.

Some people tell me I'm selling my weapon short by going with a 1/9 twist if I go with Bushmaster. For some reason I can't seem to get Bushmaster to make me a 1/7 twist 14.5" upper.

LMT is known for their quality products. I just need to see if they can install a Phantom flash hider and pin it so it's OAL 16" as the Birdcage won't cut it.

Obviously I'm not going for range here, but being able to lob higher-grain projectiles just seems like a win-win, considering 1/7 can also throw 55gr FMJ M193 fine.

Anyone have a different opinion on any of that?

It you want a 14.5, M4 contour with a 1/7 twist, build the upper you want and have a smith pin and weld the FH, not hard for a smith. The price would be pretty comparitive to buying the upper as a whole, even a little less, even cheaper if you go with Bushy.

Why not just buy a 16" barrel with an M4 contour. Is an 1.5" that important (on a barrel that is

). Or buy the upper group you want and have a smith contour the barrel to what you want.

BCM is a great product, as is the rainier arms custom shop. I'd run one of those two routes.

Ill be putting up a LMT 14.5 Upper with a Daniel Defense 12.0 FSP rail and a pinned AAC Blackout, when i get back from training this weekend. its never been fired or even mounted. Ill be selling a acog with a doctor optic along with it. Ive had a few LMT rifles and you cant go wrong with them.

Decided im going to go with a POF SBR.

I know who Bravo Company is and I have looked at their products.

I like the 14.5" because it's just as accurate and I find that better performing flash hiders are usually in the 1"+ range (at least over A2 Birdcage) anyway, so 14.5" is just what I prefer.

Plus the bayonet works on a 14.5" barrel but won't on a 16". It bounces up and down and is loud as shit.

Gotta have that SHTF option of a bayonet!

Then have snith contour the barrel for a bayo lug, Steve at ADCO can do it, along with pinning and welding your preferred FH.

I have him contouring my 16" heavy barrel to cut weight and install an OPS Inc break.

You can also look at yankee hill machine, I have a 14.5 inch setup from them with the pinned phantom.

Problem solved. A friend of mine, who I helped build his 14.5" M4 wanted to sell it so I snagged a basically new Bushmaster M4 for $650.

Now to save up for the ACOG.
