I need to be schooled

So I've been shooting for about 1yr now and iv come along way. I can hit dollar sized bill targets at 300 yards.

I am moving to az soon and would like to make a build capable of shooting 1000yrd targets.

Right now I have a ai1.5/ Remington 26' barrel action with a leupold vx2 scope.
Nothing special and my choice is the fleetfarm special Winchester 155g.

What kind of scope should I be lookig for and is a similar build but with badger or other type bling help etc. Ty

Learn to reload and roll your own 175gr or 155 Scenar loads.

Add a decent scope/mount to what you have and you can go 1K.

I am gonna go for a mark4 since it's not but kinda in my price range. The high end one is only 1500.

+1 Leupolds QC ain't what it used to be. Nightforce is, arguably, one of the best scopes out there.

You might be able to use what you have already. Load your own ammo or go with Match ammo. Check your scope, if you have enough elevation adjustment you should be good to go!

There is a guy on here that has a ai and i wanted to build a smilar rifle. but his rifle is i think only 18 inches. can cutting the barrel shorter and adding a brake ruin the shot and or keep me from making those kind of long range shots. i know its the shooter but being new i need all the help i can get.
