In mil/mil with a TMR style reticle and a 30mm tube so I could use my NF mount (I like my scopes low).

This would be my perfect 16" AR scope as long as it was light. Preferably under 16 oz and $700. Am I way off base here? All these 1-6 scope seem to miss the mark in one area or another.

I voiced about the same opinion about a year ago. Hardly anybody see's a need for this kind of stuff, just few of us really smart fellers.

Cept I'd like to see a manufacturer make a few lightweight compact 1" tubed offerings for lightweight carbines and hunting rifles. Maybe a compact 2.5-10 or 3-12 FFP mil/mil and G2 type reticle with capped turrets that weighs a little over a pound. I holdover a lot and consider a 400- 500Y holdover a easy shot so why dial. Gap and Bushnell are designing a 30mm version very close to the 1" I had in mind.

I have a Leupold VX-II 3-9X33 Ultralight. It is a very useful as I have it on a Savage LWH in a 260. The scope weighs 8.8 ozs and the whole rig weighs just over 6 lbs. The scope has a LR reticle. I called Leupold about turrets and they will install them for less than 150. Two types. The cool thing about it is it has 64 moa of ele. That gets me to 1 k.

I thought about doing a custom leupold but I have a vortex viper 2-7 already. It has a decent bdc reticle and resetable turrets so I could use it and not spend the money.

I've got a viper 2-7x32 bdc too; really like that little scope...wish they were still currently making them. I scored it for $159 during the close out a few years ago. One of my favorite low power hunting variables under I've used under $400 so far.

The Leupy 2.5-8x36 TMR mk4 is a cool little scope, especially if you were to get m5 knobs on it.

Are they available with M5 turrets or do you have to have it done as an after thought? The only reason I haven't considered one is because I thought they only came in MOA versions and the price is a little high.
