Great pics, Dennis.

We went out for a little combo hunt and fish tour yesterday.
There are always ponds on the properties we hunt, so taking along the fishing rods just made sense.

I watched for pigs while my buddy took a turn on the bait caster.
On about the third cast with a large bass-sized spinner, he hung this hawg of a crappie. It was easily a state citation, but he tossed it right back in, because we didn't have a cooler or a bucket.

Here's my setup and subsequent results.

I told him to hold off his casting for second while I shot this little guy.

He tagged this one from his own driveway.

Several farmers have also asked us to discreetly "handle" the beavers for them, so we did a little work in that department as well.
This big boy took a hit from both of us before he was down for the final count.
He was out of the water and about 10 yards into the wheat field on the other side of a pond (not the above pond).

My daughter's hard drive crapped out last week. I spent a good 14 hours trying to get her data off of it before I gave up and took it hunting with me.

At 200 yards, I misjudged it just a bit, as I was shooting for the center.
I'll take it out for another shot before sending it to its final resting place.

Great Pics there Tuck.
What were y'all using on that Beaver?
Distance?
Two hits... who hit first to stall while the kill shot was delivered?
Thats a big critter for that 22-250 aint it?
NIce looking pond as well.
That's one helluva Crappie.
A friend of mine caught a BIG Redeye in the Maury River on a Spinnerbait last year.
It measured over 11"!

We both shoot 22-250's.
He shoots 40 grain V-max and I shoot 50's.
He took the first shot and had to shoot through the wheat. It was about 150 yards.
The monster was flopping around, so finished it off for him.
I'm guessing it was 50+ lbs.
