Sorry for the generic post, but I'm new to NV. I know these things can be alittle pricey and right now im not looking to refi my house to get something.

Right now Im more looking for a helmet attachment style binocular (or mono), but if i SHOULD be looking at something else, please lmk what im doing wrong.

So far I really like the TNV / PVS-14 Gen 3 OMNI VIII but not 100% sure about monoculars, but a the same time, like the option to mount it to a rifle. I have looked at a few PVS-7s, but from what ive read, i really should be looking at the 14's.

Hi, no problem at all the newbie questions. Always glad to assist.

The best way is to mount a 14 is to head mount it with a light weight helmet such as an OPS Core Jump along with a Wilcox G11 flip mount. Keeping it hands free on your head allows you to walk and navigate.

The other great option using a 14 in this fashion is using a IR laser for your gun, keep you head up , shoulder your weapon and let your laser do all the talking.

Weapon mounting a PVS-14 does not gain much using it behind a RDS as it's still a 1.1x system that you have to point your gun at everything you want to see in the dark which is tiring and sonetimes unsafe.

These are just a few points to consider. Please feel free to PM here or give us a call, be happy to discuss all the details. Thank you.

Buy a Gen III PVS14. Buy an IR laser. Dont put the PVS14 on your rifle.

If you need IR illumination use an LED based one for the power and range, not a civilian legal laser... unless you buy a MAWL.

Buy a bump helmet unless you need a ballistic one and a Crye Nightcap instead of a skullcrusher.

Always tether your PVS14 before you mount it up. Always remove battery when done.

Don't buy anything else other than shroud, mount, and a dovtail attachment... before you get training.

Dont buy airsoft copies of any NV gear.

There... you have everything you need to have a smooth start into NV.
