Im i using the right primer

I got to take the TRG out today, I was shooting good but something is sticking in gut, When it would discharge, it was like a momentary delay. Im talking only a 1/8 of a sec, I could her the rifle click then bang. Im using Large Rifle Primers in a 338 Lapua, should I be using Mag Rifle Primers, or something else? As I say, it seemed just little slow. Shot good for the most part.

Anything would be nice. They were CCI 200, Large Rifle Primers

What grain and powder were you using??

I usually use a mag primer in any load in a mag cartridge using more than 60 grains of powder.

LOL! Im using 82 grn of VV560, I think i might be a bit over 60

I that case the magnum is what you need to use. I have seen lots of people use to hot of a primer and it runs the chamber pressure up. Use only what you need to, to get full and quick ignition.

Yes, you NEED a mag primer. What you are getting is a hand fire. Also, check you flash holes to make sure nothing is blocking it. How many hang fires did you get, and how many rounds did you shoot?

I ran 35 rounds down range, and I would not call it a true hang fire, just some of them I would here the snap of hte trigger a millasec before the bang

How cold was it when you were shooting? It's a magnum by definition. That much powder as well as cold weather demand magnum primers.
