Impact 737R firing pin replacement

Well, among other things, it is not obvious to me how to remove the bolt shroud.
You have to push the shroud down towards the tip of the firing pin (loading the spring), so that the sear sticks out the back. There's a little retaining pin you have to pop out.

Are you just wanting to get down to this? Or are you wanting to disassemble what is shown on the pic?

OK, I got it. I had read about a procedure where you cut off a 223 case to make a little shim to keep the spring compressed, but it had sounded like you had to remove the bolt shroud before doing that. I see now that if you put in the shim and unload the spring, the other end of the firing pin comes out enough to remove the roll pin that retains it.

Ran into this exact issue a few months ago, and picked up a couple tools to help the process. These work so well, I just keep them in my range bag, and can now replace the firing pins if they ever go down in the field.

The instructions to replace the firing pin are exactly the same as the 700 firing pin assembly, and there are lots of Youtube videos on how to do that.

I also contacted Impact directly, and they use/recommend the exact same tools.
