The ridges allowing some airflow is interesting, I’ve wondered why most of the covers on the market don’t have that feature. For a few bucks it’s worth a shot, I might would go a step further and make a cover out of scrap cordura or something vs the vet wrap. Nice find!
I needed a quick solution for a suppressor cover last weekend and an old silicone drying mat was exactly what I used. Mine is currently held on with electrical tape though lol.
It worked good. I didn't rapid fire anything. Just shooting groups out of a bolt gun.
I'll trade out the tape for some velcro straps or something in the future. Fabricating a cover out of cordura like suggested above is a good idea.
How thick is that tesa tape? Do you use only that tape and wrap it directly onto the can? I'm thinking a silicone mat then tesa tape would also work well.
