I have a circa-2003 Savage 10FP Accutrigger with the stagger-feed blind magazine. How tough would it be to inlet the stock for the DBM bottom metal so I can do a z71rat 10rd mag kit conversion?

Any leads on gunsmiths that do this for a reasonable cost? Thanks!

That probably wont do him any good. The new short action Savage rifles are 4.4" spacing and his is still the older 4.25". Chances are it wont be for his rifle.

I'd have to agree with the post above to check in to the CDI bottom metal also. Magazines will always be out there, tough system and everyone that has them seems to be satisfied with his bottom metal. And for a nominal charge he will inlet your stock for you.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I guess I'm just going to have to decide how badly I want a detachable mag for my old Savage.

I have heard a few people mention Kevin's DBM lately. Any details on this? I can't find any info on his site.

someone posted pics here before, its not a bad looking setup. try searching here with stockade or rayhill as a keyword. i think it takes AI mags, but i cant swear to it
