I'm putting together a new carbine upper and am torn between the LaRue stealth and the Vltor MUR. I already have a barrel and carrier assy.
I think that Mr. Larue is cool also and I'm from Texas. I'm not sure how to say Vltor, but it looks neat.
What do you think or know of the two choices to be used for a light m4 type application?
Is one any better than the other?
Looks like the LaRue may be a little lighter..?
Do you know of anything similar that I should consider?
Thanks

Re: Input on upper receiver choice?

The biggest factor for me is fit with the lower.

I would buy whatever matched upper/lower you can find so that they fit together tightly and go with that.

Re: Input on upper receiver choice?

I've got a slightly wobly one allready and it shoots great. It's just annoying if anything. All of the business is pretty much up top, and an accuwedge does a good enough job that I haven't felt a need to bed it or drill and tap for set screw spacers.
I think the only real reason for using the two receivers that I have asked about is that they look cool, but, maybe somebody knows better. ?

Disclaimer: I have no experience with either.

But I've spent ALOT less money than they chargge to buy other manufacturers uppers, and got amazing accuracy and rock-solid reliability, fit, finish and function.

And spent the savings on ammo.

That is all.
