This was the only confirmed human killed by wolves in North America ever. One reason I am not too concerned hunting in wolf country. I would however put a bullet in one right quick if given the oppertunity.

You are correct, I meant to say the US. Not a common occurance but a pretty scary way to go.
I have hunted alaska many times and every time it is very humbling. as I know I am being hunted also by the critters that roam that earth. not that it cant happen in the lower states, it is just wild ass country. feel for her family and friends.
my cousin and best chum growing up lives in Couer D'Lene (or however you spell it) Idaho. He gave up gun hunting a few years back when he noticed every time he shot a deer or other animal, the local wolf packs would home in on the gunshot sound and wait until the field dressing was done. He said they were getting increasingly aggressive during such encounters and he's since switched to hunting with a bow, but still carries a side arm. Kinda makes you question your place in the food chain sometimes.
And this lady might have been two. We had a woman attacked west of town about
3 months ago. There was also the woman killed by coyotes in Canada in a city park.
