I've read about past reliability issues with IOR. Is that what's holding their "newer" 6-24x56 FFP mil/mil from being the shizmit?
6-24x
56mm
FFP
mil/mil
illum
zero stop
2ndary zero indicator
Mp8 reticle
comes with rings
$1750 price tag from Liberty
Sure sounds like a great deal...
It is heavy at 36oz. I guess it does have a slight yellow tint to the glass. What else is holding everyone back from owning this scope??

Re: IOR 6-24x56. IOR track record holding it back?

I tested that scope a while back and liked it a fair bit.

My only real complaints with it were the tunneling below 9.5X and somewhat limited adjustment range of 16mrad. Aside from that, the scope has a lot to offer.

For what it's worth, I liked the 3.5-18x50 quite a bit more.

I looked at both the 3.5 x 18 and the 6 x 24 at the shot show. I did like them both, the fit and finish seemed a little raw for the quality of the optics and the size of the 6x24 was a little big. If i were to buy one it would be the 3.5 x 18.

Re: IOR 6-24x56. IOR track record holding it back?

Had mine for a year now.It was mounted on a magnum 30 caliber till just recently to make sure it was going to hold up OK,it's GTG.I have enough confidence in it that now it's on my main tactical rifle to see how I like it for comps.

The only faults I can think of are.

Weight, exterior finish quality/durability and the 16 mils total elevation travel.I haven't noticed the yellow tint in the image ??? I'm still impressed everytime I look through it.

Re: IOR 6-24x56. IOR track record holding it back?

Wow great info thank you guys.
Tunneling below 9.5x good to know.
I need to calculate how much distance 16mils/20moa rail will give me using 338 300gr.
The yellow tint comment came from one of the 2 links in my original post. Haven't had a chance to see one in person. No one seems to have them locally. Rainer Arms is local IOR dealer but they only have the 6-24x50.

Guys that have bought them from us seem to feel it's a good scope for the price. We've also had guys that don't use/need illumination and zero-stop have also gone with the Leupold Mark IV M5 8.5-25x50 at the same price point. It is also a FFP, mil/mil scope with clean glass. The TMR in it is also a quality reticle.

Thanks,

Im runnin one of the on my surg 300wm.its 6.2mils to 966yds so I think the 15 mils is quite enough.its a tank and I love it. The suspended .1 mil dot poa is unbeatable.these optics are UNBEATABLY for the money. I just hope they got them in stock when I get ready for my next high end.
