Is anyone running a Vortex AMG scope on a rimfire rifle?

How is the AMG on a rimfire,Im looking to extend my rimfire shooting from 300 to 500 yds and this scope looks like it might be a good choice.

I've got one on my Vudoo. I've only got maybe 400 rounds through it so far, I bought it used here off the Hide, looks new.

I absolutely love the center dot, I can use a 1" paster at 200 yards and see the 1/4" dot in the center and put the dot on it.

Adjustments seem very repeatable from 25-400 yards, I haven't done a tall target test yet to check accuracy.

Love the lighter weight and still have all the features.

I'm not a fan of christmas tree reticles at all, but that's not the scopes fault.

The eyebox is a little tight, but I'd call it average.

I've shot S&B PMII 5-25's for so long I am spoiled, but I wanted a lighter scope on the .22 to keep weight down.

I think it's nuts to spend 1800-1900 on a Vortex when you can get a used PMII for 2100-2400, as it is not even in the same league, but Schmidt has nothing in this weight class that would check all my boxes, I tried a 3-20 Shorty, but the turret layout doesn't work for what I needed, also very heavy.

I also tried a March 3-24x52, as it checked all my boxes, but the optics, eyebox and parallax were really weird on it.

If light weight or size is not an objective, buy a PMII 5-25, If you must have the smaller/lighter weight with 90% of the optical performance the AMG will do, I don't plan on changing mine, and I will not compromise on my goals.

Very similar story as Hellbender. Recently purchased a used AMG on the Hide for an Anschutz MPR .22lr.
Great small center dot for .22, it is small enough that it allows you to do a real "1 holer" even at 24 power but not so small that you lose it on any dark background.
Good reticle (I am pro Christmas tree, H59, EBR-2C, EBR-7B). I am OK with the numbers being next to the elevation line.
Did not run a true tracking test yet but adjustments were dead on when zeroed; will do so soon though.
I like the "no click" zero; also have a RZR Gen 2 4.5-27 with similar zero, very precise. Btw, a quick tip for the ones who are not sure of the torque to apply on the turrets screws. A while back, I called Vortex CS, as I did not want these to get loose (the Gen 2 is on a TRG 338LM) but did not want to over tight them either. The manual says 6 inch/lbs but as many of us, my torque wrench starts at 10 inch/lbs. Vortex specialist said there was no problem tightening these screws at 10 inch/lbs. That's what I do for the Gen 2 and the AMG and have no issue whatsoever, even on the 338 LM, after close to 2 years and many rounds later.
Both elevation and windage turrets have very positive clicks and are locking.
Illuminated reticle always good to have if needed.
Focus at 25 yards (in our case; good for .22lr)
Eyebox not as generous a the Gen 2 at max magnification but not an issue either.
Considering power and features and a weight kept to a minimum; it makes the AMG a very good option for anyone wanting to keep weight to a minimum without sacrificing anything.
Regarding reliability; I am not for, or against Vortex, so no fan club or hater here. My experience with the brand is limited to these 2 products and I only have the AMG for a short amount of time and on a .22lr. Nevertheless, just about every AMG owner's review I read or heard of has been positive (not saying there were no bad ones but I did not find them) and when it comes to the RZR Gen 2, close to 2 years on a 338 Lapua Magnum, which is no safe queen, mostly shoot in the desert, not from a bench in a nice clean range, is a good reliability test in my book. I also understand these 2 scopes are Vortex tops, respectively made in the USA and in Japan (so no Philippines issue here). It is also possible that Vortex optics learned a thing or 2 after making scopes for 15 years and could be catching up, with their more expensive products, on some of the top brands. I had and have several brands, NF NXS/ATACR, S&B PM2, Leupold MK 4, 6 and 8 and IOR/Valdada...and only 1 of them had a catastrophic failure. They are all good scopes, some better than others, as technology progress but they are all solid...and for the one that failed... well, anything mechanical is subject to failure. In other words, sometimes shit happens, even with the best, get over it.
Regarding the warranty... Another SH's member recently brought up a fact that is worth mentioning. I have no way to know if this is true or not but I have no reason not to believe this either, especially knowing how well Vortex treats their customers. During the recent California fires, Vortex was the only company who took care of their customers who lost their scopes in the fire. We are not talking about failure here, it is way past it. Well, call me stupid but I like to have that kind of back up when it comes to expensive optics; kinda like having the entire 82nd Airbone as a QRF when you are outside the wire.
On a final note, and after only slightly coming off topic ;) IMHO the AMG is a good scope on a rimfire.

Thanks for all the input on the AMG.This scope will be for a Kidd Supergrade 10/22, and the razor gen 2 I had was just to heavy for my old bones. Its a shame it was so heavy because it was a damn good scope.
